Our Sweetest Gift Yet!

This year’s CSA gift is our sweetest one yet! We take it pretty seriously when you take the time to share your love for our farm, and this year, we are showing our gratitude with a locally made, hand-crafted ceramic herb stripper! I know I have a lot of t-shirts, and you probably do too, so we jumped at the opportunity to partner with a local business to create a hand-crafted item that has the potential to be a staple tool in your kitchen.

We want to thank Matchstick Goods for collaborating on this year’s gift. Located in North Lexington, Matchstick Goods is an arts-based social enterprise committed to mentoring and employing youth. Right now, they are working hard to build the herb strippers by hand, which will be exclusively available to Rootbound Farm CSA members.

Referring a friend to our CSA program is a big deal. We know that sticking up for local businesses keeps our community connected, which is why partnering with Matchstick Goods is important to us. When we have the opportunity, we let the joy of CSA and community-based support spill over by working with local businesses, restaurants, institutions, and food access programs. It’s one of the best parts of our job!

The mentorship initiative at Matchstick Goods is a unique program that empowers youth to earn a fair wage and encourages their creativity to flourish. If you want to support Matchstick Goods and their commitment to facilitating community engagement, check out their website, www.matchstickgoods.com, and their Instagram page, @matchstickgoods.

So, how do you get your hands on one of these herb strippers? If you are a CSA member interested in referring a new friend to our program, have them include your name in the additional notes section when they sign up, or give us a heads-up about your referral at farmers@rootboundfarm.com. If they sign up, you will receive one of these unique culinary tools in your May CSA Box!

We have some ideas to help you spread the word! Share about your CSA experience on Instagram, post about us in neighborhood groups on Nextdoor, and alert your community members on your favorite Facebook group pages. If social media isn’t your thing, you can always send your friends an email or tell them about Rootbound Farm in person!

If you want to spread the word about Rootbound’s CSA Farm Share program on social media, we put together a link with images that make posting easy! Click here to access our media packet.
